Welcome to Fort McMurray Lodge # 195
Fort McMurray Lodge 195 is a Masonic Lodge that operates under the jurisdiction of The Grand Lodge of Alberta and meets twice monthly from September to June. We are an active Freemasons Lodge whose primary purpose is to provide fellowship for men of good conscience.
Our Freemason Lodge is the oldest in the Wood Buffalo area, having been formed in 1968. If you are a Mason, we invite you to visit with us on the first or third Monday of any month.
If you not a Mason, and are interested in Freemasonry in Fort McMurray, Alberta Canada, we invite you to explore our site and to contact us with any questions you may have.
Masonry is an inclusive and inviting organization. It offers the benefits of life-long fellowship with a group of men who share an interest in living according to their moral outlook. We look forward to meeting you.
Freemasonry is one of the world’s oldest secular fraternal societies. It instills in its members a moral and ethical approach to life: it seeks to reinforce thoughtfulness for others, kindness in the community, honesty in business, courtesy in society and fairness in all things.
Members are urged to regard the interests of the family as paramount but, importantly, Freemasonry also teaches and practices concern for people, care for the less fortunate, and help for those in need. In essence it is a beautiful system of morality, veiled in allegory and illustrated by symbols.
For many years Freemasons have followed three great pillars, or Tenets, and believe that they represent a way of achieving higher standards in our lives..
Every true Freemason will show tolerance and respect for the opinions of others and behave with kindness and understanding to his fellow creatures.
Freemasons are taught to practice charity and to care – not only for their own – but also for the community as a whole, both by charitable giving and by voluntary efforts and works as individuals.
Freemasons strive for truth, requiring high moral standards and aiming to achieve them in their own lives.
